Family Law Issues During the Covid-19 Crisis

The Courts are essentially closed to any civil matters except emergencies such those which involve the physical safety of a party, for the next couple of weeks. However, we are here to help you. Our office is open, but with shortened hours. We are monitoring emails and telephone calls. We can certainly reach out to the opposing lawyer to help resolve the issue.  We also will prepare the necessary pleadings and motions.

During this time of global crisis and while we are social distancing and self-quarantining, let’s keep in mind that our children take direction from our example. So, if your child has time sharing with the other parent, try your best to honor that schedule, while still taking care of your health and the health of those around you. Only when necessary, utilize virtual time sharing mechanisms such as Skype, Zoom, or FaceTime. If you have a monetary obligation, do your best to meet that. If you can work out a temporary arrangement with the other party, then do so, and honor that temporary arrangement.

In the meantime, stay safe and healthy.
